Hello buddies welcome to the Deadly Ironman Experience aka. 'D.I.E' - in Mordheim a set of deadly rules to challenge you in Mordheim, and they just got deadlier with this 2.0 update! 

I've updated the rules to be much clearer - if you find anything

that doesn't make sense or is not explained properly, join the discord 

and let me know!

 

This set of rules should provide a massive challenge for anyone - no matter how good you think you are.

​

If you want your name on the leaderboard, submit a screenshot of the loading screen to the #die_in_mordheim Discord channel - You don't HAVE to be rank 10 to be on the leaderboard!

​

Warband management:

1) You must start at rank 0.

​

2) You can only have 700 gold to begin with - if you start with more, you must hire-fire until you reach 700 gold. You may keep excess equipment.

​

3) TWO veteran points can be used, for the EXPLORER skill.

4) You can NOT recruit ANY hired swords or use the FREE DLC warriors!

An optional rule, you can chose to use this or not.

​

5) EVERY available active slot in the warband needs to be filled at ALL times.

Active slots are the slots at the bottom of the screen, the warriors that you bring into battle.

​

6) NO reinforcement slots (the slots on the right side of the screen) can be used, only to bench a hero if you want an impressive at rank 5 (the one hero can be used to replace a dead character) but otherwise the warband must remain the same.

This means that the slots on the right side of the screen, can not be used.

​

7) You MUST pay upkeep and treatment if you have the gold.

​

8) You can NOT fire warriors after you've started.

​

*9) You can NOT complete the FIRST THREE shipment requests (The 4th failure will mean the end of the Warband, so be careful).

This means, that the first shipment request you receive, you have to let the days run out, the same goes for the second and the third shipment requests.

​

10) After the 3rd failure, you are allowed to use two veteran points, on NEGOTIATOR (+3 days to deliver shipments).

An optional rule, you can chose to use this or not.

​

11) You ARE allowed to send to secondary factions, at any time.

You can also send to your primary faction, as long as there is no shipment request active while point 9 is still in play.

 

Missions:

1) ALWAYS pick DEADLY missions (after the first normal mission).

1.1) If no Deadly mission are available, you MUST use scouts until you get a DEADLY mission.

1.1.2) If you run out of scouts (or money for scouts) you HAVE to advance a day and do 1.1 again until a DEADLY mission shows up.

1.2) ONLY use 'launch' - NEVER 'launch and deploy'.

1.2.1) You CAN launch with injured warriors in your active slots.

This just means that the injured warriors won't be in the mission.

​

1.3) NO overhead map allowed.

​

1.4) NO backtracking allowed.

This means that you can't refund ANY blue pills by walking over the blue light, after spending them on movement.

​

1.5) NO story missions allowed.

 

Lose condition:

- Warband is denied access to campaign due to missing the last shipment.

- Warband is too crippled to carry on.

 

Win condition:

+ Reach warband rank 10

 

To calculate your score, use this formula once you hit rank 10: (Enemies Out of Action - Days Spent) * (Missions played) / Allies Out of Action = Score

Final thoughts and analysis;

With this new ruleset and score calculation, you get rewarded for taking out enemies, spending less days, doing more missions and keeping your own guys alive.

 

The loss of backtracking will bite you while trying to find your way through and around buildings and this is without any overhead map to help. It will make perception a lot more useful in general as well.

 

Using no veteran skills, except for the Exploration, will make everything more expensive and thus put more pressure on you as a player. On top of that, not being able to use reserve slots will force you to make decisions about learning skills and make dealing with injuries a lot worse to handle.

 

Version 2.0 introduces a gold cap to put everyone on, somewhat, equal terms, no matter how long you have played. To add insult to injury, literally speaking, you are now forced to fail 3/4 shipments. This means unavoidable injuries to some of your warband members, but also a kill switch, should you fail your last shipment. You will be allowed to take the Negotiator veteran skill as soon as the 3rd shipment fails.
